Lipid Panel Test Disc These packs of 10 Roche cobas b 101 Lipid Panel Test Discs measure a variety of Lipids, including Total Cholesterol, HDL- and LDL-Cholesterol, and Triglycerides. They are incredibly efficient, offering a remarkably short testing time of just six minutes, u2tilising just a 19µl finger prick sample of blood. Once the lipid panel test has been completed, the results are displayed in two different formats: millimoles per mol and milligrams per decilitre of Cholesterol, Triglycerides, HDL- and LDL-Cholesterol. This dual display of results makes it easy to interpret the data and obtain an accurate measurement of Lipid levels. Lipid Testing principle After the application of the blood sample to the disc and closing the hinge cover, an onboard dilution container is pierced releasing phosphate-buffered saline into a mixing chamber. The erythrocytes of the capillary or venous blood sample are separated from the plasma by centrifugation. In the next step, the buffer is mixed with the plasma sample and transferred through fluidic channels to the reaction chambers. The instrument determines total cholesterol and HDL-Cholesterol by an enzymatic method. The triglycerides test is an enzymatic end-point method that makes use of different enzymes.
