CRP Test Discs – cobas b 101 These packs of 10 Roche cobas b 101 Test Discs measure C-reactive protein (CRP). They are incredibly efficient, offering a remarkably short testing time of just six minutes, utilising just a 12µl finger prick sample of blood. Once the test has been completed, the results are displayed in two different formats: millimoles per mol and milligrams per decilitre of CRP. This dual display of results makes it easy to interpret the data and obtain an accurate measurement of C-reactive protein levels. Testing principle The erythrocytes of the capillary or venous blood sample are separated from the plasma by centrifugation. In the next step, the plasma sample is diluted with a dilution buffer. After the diluted plasma sample is transferred into a reaction chamber, it is mixed with the CRP antibody-latex reagent. The CRP in the diluted plasma sample bonds with CRP antibody-latex conjugate. The concentration of CRP is calculated by measuring the latex agglutination reaction with a wavelength of 525 nm and 625 nm.
